The first official event for any team at the World Series is Media Day. Players, Coaches and Family members this year will see and experience “Share the Dream – Share the Game”
first hand when they arrive and take part in Media Day. So, what happens at Media Day? Let’s take a look inside!
Players and coaches come in full uniform and start out by taking a tour of the program of Babe Ruth Softball. After experiencing how large the program is and what it took to
get to the World Series, players will see the history of the World Series dating back to 1999 with the very first Babe Ruth Softball World Series. Record holders, previous
winners and the various awards will all be on display for the players to see and take photos of. Next, players will enter the red carpet area with artwork that has been streamed
all over the world – They will know they have arrived at the World Series!
Now that the World Series has seen some of the players and coaches at Media Day the players and coaches take in the “Rawlings Center”. Players will see the special World Series
balls played at the World Series as well as some new items to view from our friends from Rawlings. The highlight will be on display the first ever Rawlings Gold Glove Award
presented to a professional softball player, AJ Andrews of the Akron Racers! AJ was presented this award at the Rawlings MLB Awards last November in New York.
Next players will see a miniature version of the World Series field. Have you ever wanted to make it look like you are catching a fly ball by the fence? Now you can. This will
be the perfect backdrop for when you hold up our picture frame from the World Series to share your experience with your family and friends on SnapChat, Instagram, Facebook,
and Twitter – Share The Dream and let them know you made it!
Media Day is not complete until you have your official World Series photo and team photo taken by the professionals of Glossy Finish by Lifetouch. As players and coaches are
getting photos done, parents and team followers can view special items for purchase that are only available at Media Day. Once players, coaches, and parents are reunited,
the players and coaches will receive their World Series ID Badge, Lanyard and Pin.
